E-commerce and loyalty app redesign for one of the biggest department store in Hong Kong.
YATA is one of the biggest department stores in Hong Kong that focused on Modern Japanese Lifestyle.
For the E-commerce redesign, as it was previously focused on baby products, they would like to transform their website to include more lifestyle and daily products such as groceries and electronics for all audience. Main update includes the new searching process, the purchasing flow of product and different scenarios of the shopping cart.
For the loyalty mobile app, YATA-Fans aims to notify members about latest promotions and discounts, allowing them to earn points while shopping and redeem different rewards using the membership points.
After studying the current website and learning about the concerns and requirements of the client, I have realized some problems that may be inconvenient and look confusing to users:
Large amount of products with different types and difficult to look for interested products when all displayed at once
Need a organized navigation menu for products for the updated categories
Many scenarios for the shopping cart display
Homepage will display according to different shopping modes (Pickup, delivery)
After some research with multiple UX reference on other existing e-shop, I have proposed some solution to potentially improve the user experience and make the searching process clearer:
New navigation menu with filters for categories, easy to look for the desired product
Advanced filters section inside product list page for users to select products with more desired details
Providing multiple versions for different shopping carts
Having a button on top to easily pick preferred shopping mode
Latest navigation menu displaying the product categories and types clearly in both web and mobile
More advanced filters section inside product list page for users to select products with more desired details
Displaying all the products that are added to the cart
Allowing users to change or edit their delivery location
Homepage: displaying promotions and products with the most popular categories
Shopping Tutorial: Guiding users to use the all new e-Shop with easy-to-follow flow and providing them shopping tips
